5-Day Beginner Ski Package
About this package
Five days is the shortest course that gets most first timers onto genuine blue runs rather than leaving them stuck on the nursery slope. The two extra days over the short course go almost entirely into turn control and lift confidence, which is where beginners usually get stuck. By the middle of the week you are riding the chairlift instead of the beginner tow, and that changes how the whole mountain feels. One private instructor stays with you the whole time, so nobody is waiting on a group of eight people to catch up. Equipment, lift passes and daily hotel transport are included. Count on 6 days total with arrival and departure.
Pricing is built around the equipment you already own. Please contact us to discuss your requirements and receive a quotation.
Day wise itinerary
Day 1: Arrival
Hotel check in and equipment fitting. Boots first, since everything else depends on them.
Day 2: Basic skiing skills
Balance, stance, and stopping safely. Your instructor drills this until it stops being something you think about, because turning is much harder to learn if stopping still worries you.
Day 3: Turning and lift use
Your first proper turns, and your first ride on a real chairlift instead of a rope tow.
Day 4: Blue slope progression
Moving onto easy blue terrain with your instructor close by. Speed picks up a little and you learn to hold a line.
Day 5: Technique refinement
Longer runs, cleaner turns, and less hand holding as your body starts to trust itself.
Day 6: Departure
Breakfast and airport transfer.

Frequently asked questions
Will I actually be skiing blue runs by day five?
Most guests are, with an instructor nearby. Some people get there on day four, some need the full course plus a bit of luck with the weather. Age, fitness and how comfortable you are with speed all play a part.
What is the difference between this and the 3 day course?
The 3 day course covers fundamentals and stops there. This one adds chairlift use and blue run practice, which is where skiing starts to feel like an actual sport rather than a lesson.
How many hours a day will I be on snow?
Enough to make progress and not so much that you are too tired to learn anything. Your instructor reads how you are doing and calls it. Fighting through exhaustion on day two tends to set people back.
Is the private instructor really one to one?
Yes. If you book as a couple or a family you can request to be taught together, but you are never added to a group of strangers.
What happens if the weather is bad on one of the days?
Your instructor adjusts. Gulmarg gets flat light and heavy snow days, and there is usually still terrain worth using at the base. If a day is genuinely unskiable we work around it within the course.
