Cancellation and Refund Policy
Prices in INR. Covers the 2026 to 27 winter season and applies to every booking made with Gulmarg Ski Guides.
What this covers
This sets out how cancellations, date changes and refunds work for guiding days, lessons and packages. Gulmarg weather can affect bookings at short notice, and there is a section on that below.
Standard schedule
- More than 21 days before your start date: full refund
- 15 to 21 days before: 50 percent refund
- Less than 15 days before: no refund
A 50 percent advance confirms any package. These percentages apply to that advance and to any balance you have already paid.
This schedule applies whatever the reason for cancelling, including illness or a change of plan.
Peak season
Peak season this year runs from 10 January to 10 March 2027. Guiding slots are in short supply then, so we sometimes hold dates on stricter terms that are partly or fully non refundable.
If different terms apply to your booking, they appear on your quote before you pay. We never add them afterwards.
Snow, weather and road closures
If an official closure of the Srinagar to Gulmarg road or the gondola stops a booked day going ahead, we first offer to reschedule you within your trip dates.
If that is not possible, we refund the days affected in full, less any third party cost already committed on your behalf that we cannot recover.
This applies to closures confirmed by local authorities or the gondola operator. It does not apply when you decide not to travel because of a forecast.
Date changes
One free change of dates, with at least 15 days notice and subject to availability.
A change with less notice, or a second change to the same booking, counts as a cancellation and a fresh booking under the schedule above.
No shows and early departures
Not arriving for a confirmed day without telling us is a no show, and no refund is due.
If you end your trip early once it has started, the unused days are not refundable unless a confirmed closure is the reason.
How refunds are paid
Approved refunds go back to the payment method you used, in INR, within two weeks of approval. Bank processing times after that are out of our hands.
Group bookings
Larger groups may have their own cancellation schedule, agreed in writing when you book. Where nothing separate was agreed, the standard schedule applies to each person.
How to cancel
Message us so we can confirm your request in writing and start any refund that is due.
