10-Day Beginner Ski Package

10 days on snow 11 days total Skiing Beginner

About this package

This is the full programme, built for guests who want to leave Gulmarg as an intermediate skier rather than a beginner who had a good week. Ten days of daily coaching covers the fundamentals, technique work, blue run confidence and your first real carving, and finishes with an assessment so you know exactly where you stand and what to work on next. It is a lot of skiing, and by the second week your legs will tell you so, but very few people who complete this course need to start from scratch anywhere else. You are with one private instructor throughout. The trip runs 11 days in total with arrival and departure.

Pricing is built around the equipment you already own. Please contact us to discuss your requirements and receive a quotation.

Day wise itinerary

Day s 1 to 3: Fundamentals

Arrival, equipment fitting, then the full foundation. Balance, stance, snowplough, stopping, and your first turns.

Day s 4 to 6: Technique progression

Linking turns, chairlift terrain, and the shift from mechanical repetition to something that feels like a rhythm.

Day s 7 to 9: Blue run confidence and carving basics

Sustained blue run skiing plus an introduction to carving, which means using the edge of the ski instead of skidding through the turn.

Day 10: Final assessment

A last day of skiing with your instructor giving direct feedback on where you have landed and what to practise next season.

Day 11: Departure

Breakfast and airport transfer.

Frequently asked questions

Will ten days make me an intermediate skier?

That is the goal, and most guests who complete the course get there. Carving cleanly takes longer than ten days for almost everyone, but leaving able to ski blue runs comfortably and start working the edges is a realistic outcome.

Do I get rest days?

There is no fixed rest day, but your instructor will pull back or cut a day short when your body needs it. Skiing badly because you are exhausted teaches you bad habits, so we would rather lose an afternoon.

Is this course worth it over the 7 day one?

If you want carving and a proper assessment, yes. If you mainly want to be able to ski blue runs on a future family trip, the 7 day course probably does the job.

What does the final assessment involve?

No exam and no certificate. Your instructor skis with you, watches how you handle different terrain, then tells you plainly what is working, what is not, and what to focus on.

Can I switch to snowboarding partway through?

It is possible in principle, but it means starting over on a new set of muscles and losing most of the progress you have made. We would rather you pick one and stay with it.
