5-Day Freeride Snowboard Package
About this package
The same guided, condition led structure as the freeride ski package, run on a single freeride board rather than a splitboard. Full board, boots and avalanche kit are fitted before day one. This is not a course for beginners. Gulmarg's freeride terrain is lift accessed off piste in genuine avalanche country, and it suits riders who already handle piste comfortably and want to get into the powder the mountain is known for. Your guide reads the snowpack every morning and picks terrain to match, so no two weeks here run the same way. The trip runs 6 days in total with arrival and departure.
Pricing is built around the equipment you already own. Please contact us to discuss your requirements and receive a quotation.

Frequently asked questions
Is this a splitboard trip?
No. This package uses a standard freeride board and lift access. If you want to skin into terrain beyond the lift network, look at the guided backcountry splitboard packages instead.
How much riding experience do I need?
You should be riding confidently on piste, comfortable at speed, and able to handle variable snow. Deep powder demands a different kind of stamina from groomed runs, and flat sections in off piste terrain are much harder on a board than on skis.
What avalanche equipment do I get?
A beacon, shovel, probe and backpack are included, and your guide runs a beacon search briefing on day one. If you own your own kit, mention it before booking.
Can skiers and snowboarders go out in the same group?
Often yes, depending on ability and group size. Mixed groups work well when everyone rides at a similar level, and your guide will tell you honestly if it is not a good match.
What if I want to try splitboarding instead?
That is the guided backcountry splitboard package. It assumes you are comfortable riding off piste already and adds skinning, touring gear and transport to remote zones.
