10-Day Freeride Ski Package
About this package
This is our longest lift accessed trip, built for skiers chasing a proper storm cycle rather than a single good day. Ten days gives your guide room to wait out a flat light morning and still deliver three or four genuinely deep days. Anyone who has skied Gulmarg for a week knows the frustration of watching the good snow arrive on the day you fly home. Ten days mostly solves that. The terrain is lift accessed off piste in real avalanche country, so this assumes you already ski confidently on piste and can handle a long day in deep snow. The trip runs 11 days in total with arrival and departure.
Pricing is built around the equipment you already own. Please contact us to discuss your requirements and receive a quotation.
Day wise itinerary
Day 1: Arrival, fitting and avalanche briefing
Equipment fitting, then a full avalanche safety and beacon search briefing before anyone leaves the base.
Day 2: Warm up runs and terrain assessment
Easier off piste lines while your guide reads the snowpack and assesses your skiing.
Day 3: Powder skiing off Phase 1
Steeper lines within the lower Gondola terrain, guided run by run.
Day 4: Phase 2 terrain
Higher terrain off Phase 2, with the guide setting the pace.
Day 5: High alpine routes
Longer routes toward the bowls around Apharwat Peak, snow and weather permitting.
Day 6: Storm or rest day
Held flexible. Heavy snowfall or flat light means lower terrain or a day off the hill.
Day 7: Fresh snow zones
Your guide picks whichever aspect took the new snow best.
Day 8: Extended alpine routes
Longer descents in terrain your guide has been saving for the right conditions.
Day 9: Guide's call
Zone chosen entirely on stability and snow quality.
Day 10: Last full day, best available snow
A final day built around the best conditions on the mountain.
Day 11: Departure
Breakfast and airport transfer.

Frequently asked questions
Is ten days of freeride skiing too much?
Physically it is demanding, and almost nobody skis all ten days at full effort. The point of the length is not more skiing, it is better skiing, because your guide can pick the good days instead of taking whatever the calendar gives.
When is the best time to book this trip?
Gulmarg's snow generally builds through January and February. Talk to us about your dates and we will tell you honestly what a given window usually looks like rather than selling you the season's best weeks by default.
Do I get rest days built in?
Day 6 is held flexible for exactly that reason, and your guide can call a rest day at any point if the weather or your legs need it.
Will I ski the same terrain twice?
Some zones, yes, because they are worth repeating when they refill. Ten days does open up more of the mountain than a shorter trip, especially once your guide knows how you ski.
Can I combine this with a backcountry touring trip?
Yes, and some guests do. Tell us at the enquiry stage and we will look at how the two fit together across your dates.
