7-Day Guided Backcountry Snowboard Package
About this package
The splitboard version of our week long touring trip. Full touring setup, skins on for the ascent, board reassembled for the descent, guided into the same remote zones as the ski package. You leave the Gondola behind and skin into terrain the lifts do not reach, including Babareshi, Drung and Tosamaidan, with avalanche rescue gear and a guide who reads snowpack rather than just terrain. Splitboarding rewards patience. The ascents are slower than skiing and the transitions take practice, but the descents are on untouched snow with nobody else on the slope. The trip runs 8 days in total with arrival and departure.
Pricing is built around the equipment you already own. Please contact us to discuss your requirements and receive a quotation.

A shorter tour near Gulmarg to work on skinning, kick turns and the split to ride transition, plus beacon, shovel and probe drills in the field.

Remote transport to Babareshi for a full day of touring and riding.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need to have splitboarded before?
Ideally yes. You should be comfortable riding off piste and comfortable with the idea of skinning uphill. If you have toured on skis but never split, tell us, because the skinning transfers even if the transitions take a few days to get smooth.
How much slower is splitboarding than skiing on the ascent?
Somewhat slower, mostly because of transitions and awkward traverses. Mixed groups of skiers and splitboarders work fine when everyone accepts the pace, and your guide plans routes with that in mind.
Can I bring my own splitboard?
Yes, and it usually reduces the cost. Send us your equipment list before booking, including any avalanche safety gear or airbag pack you own, and we will build a custom quotation around it.
What if I have never used a beacon?
Your guide covers it before anyone leaves the base, and day two includes practical rescue drills in the field. That said, arriving with some prior avalanche training makes the whole week better.
How remote are these zones?
Remote enough that vehicle transport is needed to reach them, which is included in the package. There is no lift infrastructure and no patrol, which is the reason walkie talkies and emergency medical assistance are part of every backcountry booking.
